AUTISM
Children on the Autistic Spectrum can often think creatively and retain expert knowledge about topics of interest. However, some students can feel overwhelmed or anxious in a classroom setting.
Strategies for managing sensory overload are essential, and additional support to assist with social skills and understanding can be invaluable. Please get in touch if your child struggles with sensory overload, require help managing social interactions, or needs academic support.

ADHD
Whilst a superpower, ADHD can often be misunderstood by parents and teaching professionals, leading to children being labelled as naughty or lazy. Students with ADHD can display a range of behaviour and personality traits such as disorganisation, impulsivity, poor concentration, task paralysis, relationship difficulties or hyper-focus. ADHD traits can impact self-esteem and confidence. If your child would benefit from strategies or support with their ADHD, please reach out for an initial chat.

DYSLEXIA
Students with dyslexia are known to work harder than others and often work extra hours to overcome daily challenges. This additional effort can go unnoticed but can cause the Dyslexic student to feel tired, especially when preparing for exams. Strategies for remembering, planning, structuring or organising work can help students feel more in control of their workload. Advice regarding Exam Access Arrangements can assist the student in performing more effectively in exams or tests. Academic support for the Dyslexic student can be transformational. Please do make contact to discuss how academic coaching and tutoring can benefit your child.

KS1
In Key Stage 1, children can struggle with big emotions, anxiety, low confidence, difficulties with friendships, or challenges in focus and learning. Play therapy offers a safe and creative way for them to express feelings, build resilience, and develop social and emotional skills — all through play. It helps children make sense of their world, grow in confidence, and thrive both in and out of the classroom.
If you’re concerned about your child’s wellbeing, get in touch today to find out how play therapy can help them shine.

KS2
In Key Stage 2, children often face growing pressures that range from academic demands and friendship changes to rising anxiety, low self-esteem, or difficulties managing big emotions. At this stage, special educational needs can also become more prominent, with challenges around focus, organisation, or learning differences coming to the surface. Through a blend of play therapy, talking therapy, and the power of psychoeducation, I help children better understand their feelings, build coping skills, and develop confidence in themselves. These approaches offer a safe, engaging way to explore emotions while giving children practical tools to navigate school and home life more successfully.
f your child is struggling in KS2, reach out today — together we can support their emotional wellbeing and learning journey.

KS3 and beyond
In Key Stage 3 and beyond, the transition to adolescence brings new pressures. Hormonal changes, the influence of social media, shifting friendships, and more complex family relationships can all impact a young person’s wellbeing. Academic demands also increase, and for some, underlying SEN may become more prominent. Using a combination of talking therapy, creative therapies, and psychoeducation, I support young people in making sense of their experiences, building resilience, and developing healthier ways to cope with stress, relationships, and self-image. This is a safe, supportive space to explore emotions, gain perspective, and grow in confidence during this important stage of life.
If your KS3 child is finding things overwhelming, get in touch today to discover how therapy can help them thrive.
