Other relevant experience

Alongside my counselling practice, I bring a wide breadth of personal and professional experience. As both a mum and step-mum, I understand the realities of family life first-hand. Professionally, I have over 20 years as a teacher and qualified SENCo, leading on special educational needs in both UK and international schools. I have also worked within CAMHS and as a child protection social worker in Guernsey and Gloucestershire, supporting children and families through some of their most challenging times. As an expert play therapist, qualified adult counsellor, and trauma-informed practitioner, I combine creativity, empathy, and clinical knowledge to offer holistic support for children, teens, and adults.

Do you work online or face- to- face?

I work online and face-to-face.  For younger children where play therapy is the therapeutic tool, face-to face sessions are advised.  Teenagers and adults ae welcome to attend sessions on -line or in person and we can discuss preference during our initial free meeting.

If I cancel a session, do I still have to pay?

I operate a 24-hour notice period for lesson cancellations.
It is possible to reschedule lessons within this period, and there will be no cancellation fee.

Are sessions Confidential?

Sessions operate within the strict guidelines set out in the BACP ethical framework. Sessions are confidential, however confidentiality will be broken if there is concern for the individual's welfare or the welfare of others. During play therapy sessions for younger children, key themes may be communicated back to carers if appropriate and necessary for the child's progress. Confidentiality is always discussed and agreed in the first session.
